This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books that I am requesting will greatly help my students develop their love for reading which will lead to increased literacy. Research has shown that students who have immediate and ongoing access to engaging books in their classrooms exhibit higher reading achievement, better comprehension, and an increased vocabulary. When students are provided with well-designed classroom libraries, they interact more with books, spend more time reading, and exhibit more positive attitude toward reading.
I have had parents lately who have been communicating with me and asking if their children can bring home books from the classroom so they can practice at home.
They wanted to help children read at home but they don't have books. The donation to this project will give a chance to my students to bring home a book to read and practice at home.
