My Project

My students absolutely love the many hands-on learning opportunities that they are afforded in our public school Montessori classroom. As a rule of thumb, our learning, no matter the concept, begins with concrete experiences so that the child can internalize the learning. They then move on to visual explanations of the topic, and eventually are able to abstractly explain the topic.

In the month of March, our class is studying the intersection of Women's History Month and an introduction to geography unit.

We will explore landforms, the globe, and women in STEM who have helped us discover more about our world. This project will give students hands-on and visual experiences to extend their learning outside of the whole-group and practice independently.
