Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you imagine a day without technology? Many of us live through our smart phones and computers, and we would not know what to do without them. My fifth grade special education students live in a world where everyone else lives off technology, except for them. Help me fix this problem.

My students are eager to learn, they love school and have compassionate hearts.

They attend a Title I school, where most of my students are on free and reduced lunch. They have low socioeconomic backgrounds, and their parents can only provide for their basic needs. They do not have access to extras like iPads, nor are they exposed to experiences like going to museums, the aquarium or other educational outings. They have yet to learn that there is a whole world outside of their community, and this is what I want to teach them with this technology package.

My Project

I am requesting an iPad and an iPad case because I know that they will allow my students to learn beyond the walls of my classroom. IPads will allow my students to learn from educational literacy, math and science games, ebooks, and potentially learn from other students through Skype. The possibilities for my students with these materials would be endless.

This project is so important because it can truly change the educational paths of my students.

Allowing them to have this technology will allow me to differentiate activities for every child, thus allowing me to create a motivation for learning. My students do not get extras at home, but at school I feel it is my duty to provide them with the best. A child that learns to love thinking and learning can do many great things, and this is what I want for my students.
