This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
First grade is a time of sharing and teamwork. However, there are some times in first grade where my 6-7 year old students need to work independently, such as when they take tests, or when they use our mini whiteboards to practice their spelling words.
Our classroom has the most amazing first graders!
They are working so hard to read and they put so much effort into their work. Our school is located in an industrial area and a majority of our students are on the free lunch program. Many are also struggling to learn English.
My Project
My first graders are just learning how to work together as a team when playing learning games or practicing their reading. There are times, though, when my students need to work independently. Privacy screens for test taking, sand timers for fluency practice and new mini whiteboard erasers to use when practicing spelling words would be very much appreciated.
Your donation would be used to replace our old, worn cardboard privacy screens.
It would also provide a mini whiteboard eraser and sand timer to each child. The children will be able to do their very best independent work when there are enough materials for each student.
