My students need 2 digital recorders to produce children's stories digitally for our library's website and our classroom listening center.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Ray's classroom raised $203
This project is fully funded
My Students
My second graders love to read. They are very excited at the idea of recording their favorite stories and uploading them to the internet so that children anywhere can listen!
My 2nd graders live in Alaska, where the weather is rough, the scenery is breathtaking, and the community is small and close-knit.
Our public elementary school proudly serves about 300 students. We have a library, a computer lab, and a large gym. Our school recently won a national award for the healthy schools initiative because we serve fresh fruits and vegetables 3x a week for snack. We've got a lot going for our school, but we sure could use help with equipment. These kids are part of the digital age, and it would be nice to have tools to use in the classroom to make digital information purposeful.
My Project
With digital recorders, my students will be recording their favorite stories and adding sound effects. Then, these will be uploaded to the class website, the school library website, and hopefully put on mp3 players (that we're also trying to get funded) for our listening center. Listening and speaking skills are part of the new common core standards and help students become more literate. We'll fulfill that in many ways in the classroom, but recording stories and publishing them is the ideal way to do it! Please help out our classroom as we strive to make learning meaningful and interesting.
Your donation will impact student learning by allowing students to reach a world-wide audience when they publish their recorded stories on the internet.
That final step - publishing - gives meaning to student work. That holds their interest and gets them excited about learning. Your donation will make a difference in their lives, and we thank you in advance for helping us out!
