My students need 30 dictionaries to define weekly vocabulary words.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. D.'s classroom raised $717
This project is fully funded
"You seriously can not find the word "lint" in the dictionary?", the teacher asked her third grade student. Yes, this has become my reality. I am a third grade teacher and teach twenty-eight third graders in a public school in the city.
Weekly, my students define and learn a list of new vocabulary words. They need a dictionary to do this. The dictionaries they are using are from 1981 - almost as old as their teacher! Possibly even the same ones I used when I was in third grade!
Having thirty new dictionaries will help my students in more ways than one! To begin, they will become more independent in finding their definitions. In addition to learning new words and their meanings to incorporate into their everyday vocabulary.
With your support, you will make it possible for my students to achieve their potential in their vocabulary and everyday language. What an advantage they will have!
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
