This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in the Bronx in a school that houses many lower income students. Recently, we won a big battle. Our school was an old church. The school lacked basic resources such as a gym, playground, good condition classrooms, an auditorium and many other important components of a healthy school.

Now, we are fighting a different battle.

The school is opening a brand new pre-school for bilingual and special education children. However, the school is running with a very limited budget. Our students come from very low income families. Our new school budget is not allowing us to buy for these basic materials to help these special children.

My Project

I have selected some activities that will help these new preschoolers learning their new language and learn to use their fine motor skills. Students will be able to work with hands-on games. Also, they will be able to enjoy listening to animated stories using real puppets.

Your donation to our classroom will provide these children with the opportunity to enhance their language and expose them to more hand-on activities.

These activities and games will be use among three classrooms. Thank you for your help.
