My Project

I teach an energetic group of 1st graders who are eager to learn and grow. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring so much curiosity and joy to the classroom. Many of my students are developing foundational literacy skills, and our goal is to nurture a love for reading and writing that lasts a lifetime.

This project will provide my students with essential English Language Arts (ELA) materials—high-interest books for our classroom library, phonics and sight word games, writing journals, and comprehension tools that support all levels of readers.

These materials will allow us to run small-group literacy centers, encourage independent reading, and help students express themselves through writing. By making reading fun and accessible, we can boost their confidence and give them the tools they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Literacy is the cornerstone of every child’s education, and early exposure to meaningful reading experiences makes all the difference. These resources will allow me to meet students where they are—whether they are just learning their letters or already diving into short chapter books.

With your support, we can create a warm, literacy-rich environment where every child feels like a reader and writer.

A high-quality, ergonomic office chair may seem like a small request, but it would make a big difference in my ability to do my best work for my students. Having a comfortable and supportive chair will reduce physical strain during long planning sessions and help me maintain the energy I need to support every learner in my classroom.
