This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with wonderful Pre-K children in a high need community. They love to learn, play, and make up stories. Many of them are very interested in learning how to write.
Our writing center is lacking the materials needed for the children who are ready to begin writing. We need so much more than paper and pencils to get these kids writing. We need fun, hands-on materials that will motivate and engage the children in the writing process.
Our class needs magic writing boards, blank small and big books (for individual and class stories), a story telling game, a double sided magnetic dry erase board, various journals, and word flip books (so they can spell). By providing these materials to our class, the children can improve their fine motor skills, have fun making up stories, and make books that they can keep and be proud of!
You will make it possible for our class to have beaming 4 and 5 year old authors! The materials you will donate will allow the children to learn how to form letters and make them into words. They can make their wonderful oral stories a reality! Thanks to you they can be proud of their writing achievements and share with the world their wonderful stories! Please donate to this cause.
