My students love experiences and to compete. Whenever they see an event that is foreign to them they always say "I can do that" , "I would like to try that" or "Why didn't you sign me up for that event?". Their grit and curiosity makes being a coach a never ending cycle of learning and teaching.
The 55 meter hurdle is an event my students always want to do but we do not have the resources to train them for this event.
Having hurdles in our arsenal would allow us to teach our student athletes how to run the hurdle events plus it would be a great tool to have for warmups and conditioning movements we do in practice.
