This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students at are divided into two groups. There is a beginning band comprised entirely of 6th graders, and a second band of 7th and 8th graders.
My band students see band as an outlet from their everyday lives in which they can be themselves, enjoying the process of music making.
The music program is in dire need of many resources and as their new band director, it is my goal to provide the best conditions to thrive.
My Project
I am requesting inexpensive cleaning materials. I want to create a stock of important supplies for the students to clean their instruments after rehearsals and performances. This is important to help preserve the small inventory we have and ensure every student is provided with a instrument.
These items and supplies include ligatures and neck straps so students can properly maintain their instruments in good playing shape, avoid potential damage, and improve posture.
