My Students
The world outside my art room window is in color and my students' artwork should be too! I recently asked my students what they wanted to do that we had not done and they said they wanted to paint.
I teach art to high school students in a small rural school district in Georgia.
We work with leftover supplies and what art supplies the students bring with them, usually pencils and crayons. The school system has very limited funds for the art program. It's not that the system doesn't want to support art - the money is just not there. My students are bright and interested in art. We just do not have the funds to offer them the variety of media that I would like.
My Project
My students will be excited to use the acrylic paint and brushes to paint on the Blick canvas Panels like "real" artists. These materials will encourage them to stretch their imaginations to make their ideas come to life. They all are looking forward to the painting experience. They need to experience using color to be able to commit that "aha" moment to canvas.
You will make it possible for my students to push their artistic experiences beyond their presently limited ones.
