Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our community serves under privileged families in the Los Angeles Area. The families we serve are considered low income and our students are part of the school's free meal program. The students I will be working with have moderate to severe disabilities and this may compromise their learning abilities.

I intend to create a classroom environment according to our curriculum to promote learning, growth, friendship, and emotional well being, while challenging our students to maximize their potential for a higher education and workforce readiness.

Our families have limited resources and since we are a cultural sensitive school, based on acceptance and respect; I am reaching out to you for you generous support.

My Project

The soft seats will provide the appropriate sitting material which will improve their posture and enhance their attention span. During circle time and any other rug activity my students need to be in a comfortable sitting position providing the students with the best seating materials will be a benefit to their learning process.

These soft seats will provide the students a sense of belonging and ownership by defining their own unique space with each one having their own designated cushion.

When the students build geometric figures with the magnetic tiles this will promote their creativity as well as stimulate their architecture and engineering pre-concepts.
