My Students

Hello Generous Donors,

I am a first grade teacher at a school that is located in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.

While the neighborhood may be in crisis, our students are resilient and with some help, they will thrive!

My dream for my classroom is to create a safe haven for my kids. I want to make sure that everyone of my kids will have the supplies that they will need to get through the school day. Your donation will help build an incredible Literacy Center with some brand new books on tape to listen to during the Daily 5 Centers. Books that promote a Growth MIndset for the students. Pencils are the most used supply in any classroom! Your donation will put more pencils into my student's hands. Tissues and a instant camera to document and hang all that we work on throughout our school year.

My Project

I am requesting some books on CD for the students to listen to during their Daily 5 Center. I am also requesting puzzles and games to help some of my struggling students with letter recognition.

Our school will also be focusing on building a positive growth mindset for all of our learners, these books will both enlighten and entertain all of my students.

And let them know that it is okay to make mistakes and think outside of the box.

The pencils will ensure that all of my students will have a pencil to complete any assignments throughout the school year. Every teacher goes through paper and toner faster than we would like, this will allow me the opportunity to continue to print out all of the necessary things that my students will need to thrive during the school year. The tissues will help out with Cold and Flu season quickly approaching.

I would like to create an Art Gallery for my students so that they are able to reflect on all of the hard work that they are putting into the school year. The camera will allow me to take these pictures and display them in our room.
