My Students

How do I describe my students? Well I guess the best way is by stating what I tell them every day which is they are, “Kings and Queens”. Yes, many of my students face many challenges every day before even coming to school due to situations that are out of their control, yet every day they enter the classroom with a smile and good morning ready to learn.

As a classroom we have had to overcome many stereotypes and criticism, but our class is strong and determined to prove that we are kings and queens and hopefully soon authors too!

My Project

My students need a printer in the classroom for many reasons, one project we will do to called “Author’s Study”. This project will allow students an opportunity to delve deeply into the lives of different authors. This project will bring technology into the hands of these kings and queens. During the first few weeks of school, I shared with the students a book that I self-published, and they loved it. We discussed how they can also become authors. As a class, we decided to create our own books.

The students will also create their own book which we will print and share with the class.

It is my goal that my students develop a deeper understanding and love for reading from this project.
