My Project

This class has 26 amazing first graders. Every student is special and unique in what they bring to the classroom. Students come from diverse backgrounds.

Due to COVID-19, some students have never experienced a normal school year.

Because of this, students struggle to make appropriate connections with peers. The materials I am requesting will allow students to 'play' while also learning appropriate peer interactions.

Students deserve the opportunity to be kids and experience how school can and should be fun! Thank you for helping to ensure our future learns the necessary skills to make and maintain friendships!

Students will be taking part in phonics learning using the literacy kits. This will allow for independent and small group literacy interactions. Students will be using the pots, paints, and gems to help with our science learning. In first grade, students learn about life cycles and how different resources help us in the world. Students will be decorating their own pots and then planting seeds in them. The play dough will be used for students needing extra sensory support. Play dough is a great resource for building letters, numbers, and just getting a chance to cool off when needed.
