Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is full of so many talented students. However, as a Title I school our funds for so many extracurricular activities are usually unavailable. We just want to make sure our students get the best opportunities to showcase their talents. With that being said, for the first time ever our school will have cheerleaders ready to cheer our school athletics and show their school pride. As a group, they are enthusiastic, attentive, and hard-working. I believe they can achieve greatness this school year. While most of these students have never danced, cheered, or been a part of a team sport before, they are quickly developing skills and understanding of the basic foundations of both cheer and teamwork.
My students are a diverse group from Washington Heights who are ready to take the cheer world by storm.
Research shows that the more involved students are in the school the more successful they are likely to be. We want to create an enriching opportunity for these students to develop their potential.
My Project
Our cheerleaders need your help. We are a Title I public school in Washington Heights, where all students qualify for free/reduced breakfast and lunch. While most of these girls have never cheered, or been a part of a team sport before, they are eager learners ready to spread their school pride. Your donation will allow our cheerleaders to keep the spirit of our school thriving. Donating will also allow the cheerleaders to continue to cheer without the enormous financial burden that comes with cheerleading. We will re-use these items for years to come.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student confidence, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
New cheer tools will give my cheerleaders more unity and confidence. Pom poms are the basics in cheerleading and they also remind the cheerleaders that they are a team no matter what. They are essential in the cheer world and your donation would mean the world to my cheerleaders.
