Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the academic challenges of your first AP or college course? I sure do and I did not also have to deal with economic disadvantages. My students need lots of support to succeed in this course and are unable to purchase the support materials themselves.

My students are economically on the edge if not living in poverty.

They are very intelligent and want to succeed academically but cannot compete economically with their peers. Many students taking AP courses can afford test prep materials or courses that will help them pass the test and receive college credit. My students are relying on the school system to support them. We do not have the money to purchase support materials, actually it is a stretch just to buy the text book.

My Project

In order to level the playing field I am asking your help in purchasing support materials for my students. I am requesting a set of study cards for each of my thirty students so that they can review the most commonly tested items. These review cards have been created with support from The College Board and review all the information that is covered on the exam. Many economically advantaged students can afford to purchase support materials for the AP Exam. However, my students are not able to afford these supports. The goal is that each and every student in this course will receive a score of 4 or 5 and get the college credit for such score. The support materials will enable them to study more effectively.

Please consider helping me to level the playing field and allow my students to compete with students who have an economic advantage.

My students would not be able to afford any support materials on their own. Together we can help out 30 scholars!
