This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our ELL students work hard day in and day out to grow and improve their academic language. With the help of these supplies, my students will be able to have more opportunities to practice their written and oral language while engaging in collaborative group discussions, projects, and presentations.
My goal is to give my students a safe place to practice using their academic language.
Having these materials will allow me to give my students the opportunity to take ownership of their learning creating opportunities for students conversation, opinion sharing, and most importantly growth!
In order to accomplish this goal students will use the flip chart paper to collaborate, brainstorm and present their ideas. We will also use the flip chart paper and markers to create attractive visuals of exemplar responses and rubrics that will help students in practicing academic language and assessing their responses. The acrylic bookshelves will be used to display books from our classroom library. I hope to be able to continue conducting reading circles which support students use of language through text related rich conversation.
