My Project

We are building resources for our science learning in our new elementary school!

My students love learning about the world around them, especially the earth.

They are always bringing rocks to me to look at during recess time, and this unit will definitely catch their interest. students will be exploring ideas about how the earth changes and how rocks are formed. This is very interesting for my students, in particular, because we live in a desert environment.

My students find rocks everywhere .The geode kit will help my students learn about rock types and give them a sense of wonder and hands on exploration. They will enjoy being able to open a geode and learn about how they were made.

Being able to explore how a volcano works is something that not many of my students have ever seen before, so the volcano model will be invaluable to them. We are surrounded by volcanic mountains in our city, so my students know what extinct volcanoes look like on the outside.

The books about the earth and geology will give my students the knowledge to explore the world around them. My students are always asking questions, and they like to find the answers in books and online. I am striving to create a more print rich environment for my students so they can increase their reading skills as they learn science concepts.

These resources will give my students an understanding about geology that they can build on as they move towards middle school and beyond.
