Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are resilient, creative, and proud of where they come from. Many are immigrants, first-generation Americans, or students of color who bring powerful stories, languages, and cultural knowledge into the classroom. I love that they’re open to learning about each other and are eager to build community.

The poster-making supplies will allow students to design and display personal “identity posters” that celebrate their heritage, traditions, and values.

The inspirational visuals—featuring influential figures from Hispanic, Black, and other underrepresented communities—will help students see themselves reflected in our learning space. The backdrops and lights will transform the classroom into a more welcoming and culturally vibrant environment.

The instant camera will give students the chance to document themselves and each other during projects, creating a living “Wall of Us” that evolves throughout the year. Lastly, the Bluetooth speaker will let us play music from our cultures during work time, celebrations, and student presentations—making learning feel joyful, relevant, and connected to who we are.
