Our Creativity: In Living Color!

My students need a color printer to support them in their research and project completion. We also need card stock to print our quality creations on.

My Students

Our classroom has a diverse student population. My goal is to provide all levels of students with the support they need. I also strive to enrich the learning of our gifted students. Students are constantly creating products and researching topics of interest. Online research and digital product creation often require a color printer. We do not have access to a color printer. Also, the large staff copier is down the hall where it is difficult for me to retrieve student printing.

My students come from a very high poverty area.

Their experiences are so very limited. Many of them have never even left our town.

Parents are working hard to provide for them. Our school is doing everything it can to meet our students needs but money is tight all over and corners are cut...unfortunately, this means limited supplies.

My Project

Students STRIVE to create. They STRIVE to impress. But they need tools to help with this.

We need a color printer and card stock in our classroom to allow us to quickly retrieve creations and allow for instant sharing and collaboration where the students become the teacher.

This will be a great tool for boosting confidence and providing students with opportunities for public sharing. Instant access to hands-on versions of their creations will support visual learners and ESL students.

Students are often discouraged when they create something in the afternoon and have to wait until the next day for me to be able to actually put it in their hands. I don't want to be the source of this discouragement!
