This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students have noticed a very specific challenge that their community is facing. Often, their peers feel a lack of motivation to see their education through. Some are quick to give up on a class, or classes. In a worst case scenario, some may give up on high school all together. The culprit, largely, seems to be a lack of motivation.
Our students are willing and able to support the fellow members of their community by creating an environment in which there is more motivation for everyone to do well.
The problem out students want to address is that some students in the community do not feel motivated to succeed. As a result, the students stop coming to class and stop coming to school. They remove themselves from the community and then feel depressed. Our students want to address this issue by creating a more stimulating and welcoming environment, starting with the actual hallways and corridors.
Our students will raise awareness about the problem by using and posting the motivational posters and banners. They will be a visual way to remind the students at every step, every day, that they matter and their choices matter. We want to use this opportunity as a way to solve this very important issue the community is facing and inspire them to succeed and ultimately graduate.
Our students are looking so create an environment that is supportive and motivating. The students will use the requested materials in order to support all members of the community, especially those who need the motivation the most. The students will learn just how important motivation is in life and, through this hands-on, community-building project, they will be supporting each other and seeing, in real time, the impact of motivation.
