This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a second grade English Language Development teacher at a low performing, low income school in San Francisco. The students in my classroom represent every minority and majority group in our community. They are great kids who have to overcome many obstacles just to come to school.
We just received the gift of new tables to replace our 30 year old desks, THANK YOU DONORS! Now that we no longer have desks we need somewhere to keep our textbooks, workbooks, papers, etc.
Our classroom needs a set of cubbies to hold all of our work so that we can focus on our classwork and not the junk on our tables. Cubbies will give students a place that they can call their own to store their items. It will also give me a place to keep all of their items organized. It's a win-win for both of us!
This is where you can help. Your donation to this project will complete the transformation of our classroom from an old, out of date mess to a colorful, functional learning environment. Won't you please help my students and myself realize the dream classroom that they deserve?
