Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A large part of my job is to get kids to read. Unfortunately, they don't always believe that they like to read. So I do two things. I surround them with books and I ask them to read something that interests them.
The books that I have chosen for this project are high-interest Young Adult books that are recommended by educators and students alike.
In my experience having kids read books that they want to read strengthens their "reading muscle" so that they feel more confident about reading more complex texts or books that they "have to read" (which we also do).
