Our Classroom Is a Museum

My Project

Now more than ever, we need additional resources to support our students & create a welcoming and affirming classroom environment.

I'm requesting replicas of artwork created by some of the artists we study in class such as Kaws, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, and Henri Matisse, which will be displayed in our classroom.

This year I have the fantastic opportunity to teach English as a New Language (ENL) through visual arts. As an ENL teacher, I teach reading, writing, listening, and speaking through the arts. First, students explore artwork by famous artists by listening, speaking, and writing about them. Then, students read and write about the artists. Last, students create artwork inspired by the artist. I would love to display artwork created by the artists we study in the classroom which will be enjoyed by my students this year and for many years to come. These prints and canvases will help create a motivating and print-rich classroom.
