My Students
They are a fascinating group of 1st graders who are curious just about everything. The make up of the class is general and special ed students, as well as, English Language Learners. The students love to read and learn about new topics that are presented to them. Reading leveled fiction and nonfiction texts is beneficial when having students with different levels of understanding. We love working with our students, and providing them with the engaging books to keep them motivated to learn!
My Project
Our class library is a focal point in our classroom. Students enjoy visiting the library, and borrowing books! This not only aids the student in reading practice, but also teaches them how to be responsible for things that are not theirs. Many students don't have the opportunity to get books any other way. Our new and improved class library will serve as a great resource for our students.
A new leveled class library will benefit our students by offering them independent and instructional leveled books.
This will support their reading level progress, while engaging them in interesting and enjoyable texts.
