Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need equity and some brotherly love! We are an emotional support classroom located in the inner city of Philadelphia, where my students are growing up in a community surrounded by drug activity and gang violence. My vision for our classroom is for my students to feel welcomed, safe, and loved. They have the right to the same educational opportunities as other students right outside Philadelphia, and they deserve the necessary resources for their additional emotional support needs.
Elementary school is the foundation for our future.
We are part of this community together. Our students in our community need a safe learning environment, engaging activities, and a support system of teachers and resources to cultivate their love of learning and to help them succeed.
My Project
Flocabulary is a wonderful resource that actively engages students with the content and material of our lessons. This program aids with lessons in language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, history, and even more topics. It turns simple concepts into catchy hip-hop songs to aid in learning and memory.
My students love the Flocabulary songs and engaging activities that connect with each topic!
We have a lot of fun with this educational program, especially with our return to in-person learning. This relatable resource will increase my students' academic abilities, engagement, and achievement.
