I get to spend my days with about 100 active, intelligent problem solvers, also known as 4th graders.
My students love their flexible, assigned seats and are learning what works best for them.
They enjoy working and collaborating together. They are encouraged to discuss, ask questions, and share insights together.
My Project
I love to read, I love to see my 4th graders read. I love to discuss what I have read. My fourth graders and I have had some great discussions while reading our weekly anthology stories. And then I had a great idea.....A book club for 4th graders! I already had some books, but I definitely need some more. "Fourth Grade Rats," "EngiNerds," "The Wild Robot," and "Riding Freedom" are books written at different ability and interest levels. My students will be excited to read and discuss the plot, theme, and character development.
When I found the "Two Truths and a Lie" series, I got really excited.
Students could read the assigned pages from the book, discuss what they thought was the lie and then research. While they are researching, there will be more reading and more discussing.
I am so excited to share these book club with my 4th graders.
