My Students

I hope that my classroom is a place where students fall in love with reading. We read a variety of texts during the school day, but it's my dream that students read on their own too. That's why I sponsor a book club at our school--to help students foster a love for reading!

My book club students are absolutely wonderful.

I can't fully describe they joy they find in discussing texts with each other. Last year, they were thrilled with each and every book I gave them in book club, and then they led thoughtful, meaningful discussions with each other about the texts. They even begged me for a book to take home over the summer!

My Project

My students will be so excited to read each of these texts this year. The books will be read in book club, but last year, every book club book became popular with the masses at our school as word spread about these great novels! This year, the situation will be the same. Every week, book club students will get together to discuss the texts, and then other students will be able to request copies to read on their own as well.

Learning to love to read can change the trajectory of a young person's life.

Please help my students learn to love reading by giving them access to these incredible young adult books!
