Our Basketball Team Desperately Needs a Shot Clock

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic English language learners that need a few tools to help them stay on track. 100% of them receive free lunch. They come to school full of enthusiasm, but they need even the most basic supplies, like pens, pencils, and notebooks. Many of them work after school to support their families. Still, they participate in a wide-range of extra curricular activities to extend their learning and experiences.
Our school has a great track record of helping these students graduate with success; however, we have limited resources and do not always have the means to purchase essential tools and enhancements for our students to make them successful.
My Project
This shot clock is an essential part of each high school basketball game we play. The rules require that we have a shot clock in use for the whole game. The problem is, the ones that we currently have are broken and do not function consistently. They have been handled excessively as they are shared with five other teams in the shared campus building. The referees get frustrated with our team at every home game, because we are responsible for providing the proper equipment. Sometimes they even threaten to cancel the game, which would mean a forfeit for our team. The players do not deserve this.
With this shot clock, my players will be able to look forward to every game without frustration or hesitation, knowing they have everything they need to compete.
They will also get better experience playing the game the way it is intended to be played, without modifications such as playing without the shot clock or having it shut down in the second half. I expect the best out of them at each game; I owe it to them to provide what they need.
