My Students
The thrill of learning music is indescribable. It is a universal language that connects people throughout the world. Students learn this language when they join our band.
Our school district is situated in rural western Pennsylvania, 40 minutes outside of downtown Pittsburgh.
The band program has more than tripled in size. It has always been a center of pride for the school and community, but it has seen a tremendous amount of growth. The administration and support has allowed this growth to happen.
With this growth, our budget has been stretched to the max. Our students are motivated and inspired student musicians who understand the importance of music. I am the only band director within the music department, and I teach grades 5 through 12. Though there is a tremendous amount of support, some students are unable to purchase instruments. Economics should never become a hindrance to a student who wants to learn music. Please help support this worthy cause to provide a great music education to students. My Project
Our students perform in a number of ensembles including concert band, marching band, jazz band, and a number of chamber ensembles including brass quintet and like instrument duets and trios. Every student should have the opportunity to perform music. Economic status should not be a hindrance to a child's education
Testing has become a major focus in schools today.
These tests do not teach the many life lessons that are learned within classes like music and band. Music classes can provide a lifetime of enjoyment and a skill that can provide them many benefits in life. These abilities can also lead to a great career in music or great success outside of music.
