This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an occupational therapist (OT) in a NYC public school, I work with young students to support their unique educational needs and to build their physical, emotional, and sensory processing skills.
With the tools from this project, I hope to empower my students through engaging occupational therapy and supportive classroom modifications.
Fostering Handwriting Success:
Your donation will provide adaptive pencil grips and ergonomic writing tools, ensuring that the students can master the essential skill of handwriting by developing proper pencil grasp and control.
Creating Comfortable Learning Spaces:
Your donation will fund cushions for flexible seating, promoting sensory regulation and allowing the students to stay actively involved in classroom activities.
Supporting Fine Motor Development:
Your contribution will provide therapy putty for hand and finger strengthening activities, as well as craft supplies used to work on cutting, drawing, and writing skills.
