Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are Kindergarten students from an urban district. Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch. Despite their home environment, they are very inquisitive and have a strong desire to learn. School is the only place that offers opportunities for students to explore, interact, experience, and learn.
My students need to be active and moving while learning.
"From kindergarten to graduation, I went to public schools, and I know that they are a key to being sure that every child has a chance to succeed and to rise in the world." Dick Cheney
My Project
My kindergartners will use the iPad and Osmo kits daily in their learning centers to solve puzzles, learn their letters and numbers, add, count, and develop their creativity and imagination.
Interacting with technology adds a hands-on, physical piece to my lessons, 21st century learning skills, as well as allow students to develop their fine motor skills which important for growth.
I envision my students working in centers on a daily basis. These Osmo kits to will allow them experience technology in a way they normally would never have the opportunity to experience. The skills they will be able to build will carry throughout their learning journey.
