Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with an amazing group of students who are trying to catch up to their general education peers. I provide services to students in the special education setting, who may have the following needs: developmental delays, learning disabilities, other health impairments, emotional disturbances, and autism. I will use Osmo to give my students an opportunity to play games while continuing to learn. These games are enrichment opportunities to bring learning to life. They can use the special Luxor trapezoid desk while they review!
Students will practice math and literacy skills in a practical way that will make them enjoy learning.
Kids need time to learn through play because it allows them to explore concepts in a way that feels natural, fun, and motivating. Play-based learning helps children build essential life skills, such as collaboration, persistence, and adaptability while boosting engagement and knowledge retention. When learning is integrated into play, students are more likely to stay curious, confident, and excited about learning. Osmo helps students “foster a love of engineering, art, math, and reading with seven ways to play and learn.” The math wizard games help students practice various math skills. I hope to make learning exciting for my students!
