This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Learning to write programs stretches your mind, and helps you think better, creates a way of thinking about things that I think is helpful in all domains." Bill Gates said this, and I agree. Coding is very important and our students need to learn these skills to be able to apply them in the future.
I work with a large culturally and linguistically diverse group of learners.
I work with students with autism, specific learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, and students who may benefit from small group interventions. Close to 90% of students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, and about 60% of our students are English language learners.
My Project
My project, "Empowering Students Through Art", will help all of my students. By having these four Osmo Gaming Systems for iPad, students will be given multiple opportunities to enhance their creativity.
The Tangram game is a great way to exercise spatial and visual problem-solving skills. It helps students to begin thinking with shapes. Physical tiles included with Osmo Numbers will allow my students to experiment tangibly through trial-and-error and quickly gain real-time feedback. This game promotes a guess-and-check freestyle approach, helping students understand the reasoning behind each problem. The Newton game includes over 60 levels of creative engineering. The Words game includes unlimited content. Students can guess and spell hidden words with physical tiles. With the Masterpiece game my students will be able to draw anything and everything. Their creativity is the limit.
These four sets of Osmo Gaming Systems for iPad will allow my students to explore technology, develop deeper thinking skills and embark on their computer programming journey.
Please help my students enhance their creativity to infinity and beyond.
