My Students

Kindergarten is an exciting time for kids to jump into their educational journey! Our community of kiddos are energetic, excited and most have some experience with schooling prior to coming.

This year, we have struggled to incorporate enough technology into our classroom to meet the needs and norms of our community of students.

Many of the students have been exposed to tablets, computers and smart phones from the time they were small. When we play hands-on games in our classroom, many students would rather be playing on the tablets.

"When are we going to use the ipads?" one student asks.

Another asks, "Can we play iready now?" Yet another gets excited when exclaiming, "My mom has this game on her phone! She lets me play it!"

We love how technology can be used to engage our students in active learning scenarios in and out of the classroom.

My Project

Osmo genius kits allow students to work with hands- on learning activities, that connect to the I-pads we already have in our classroom.

Five and six year old love to move around and touch everything and they learn best by doing just that, using their hands and eyes to observe and manipulate objects and how they work together.

I would love to be able to provide the technology that the students in my community crave, while keeping the focus on the academics that they need to learn in my classroom.

Students can practice all kinds of academic skills with the Osmo, including spelling, addition/subtraction and building shapes. These kits will help give students the hands-on activities they crave while allowing me to teach the curriculum I am required to help them master.
