Osmo for Learning

My Students

In 2nd grade there is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students love to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are would rather play football, create something with their hands or run. Our group loves to play outside, learn new games, and boogie to a sweet tune.

In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences.

We are part of a larger school that celebrates inclusion. I teach in a wing of three second grade classrooms. As my students make gains in my classroom, they begin to try small chunks of the day with their typically developing peers. My classroom is about building skills to get included. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.

My Project

During our language arts time students have the opportunity to do centers in our classroom. Some of the centers involve blended learning which means different ways to learn. During center time students can learn with Mrs. Blume, with an I-pad, with a computer or a learning game.

Students will have the opportunity to use Osmo if they choose to use an I-pad.

This will give the students an opportunity to use manipulatives as well as use the I-pad. This is an interactive learning opportunity for the students. While they are using the I-pad, the Osmo will allow them to move letters or shapes around to create the item instructed.
