My Project
Origami is an enjoyable activity for scholars of all ages that helps to develop hand-eye coordination and attention to detail, encourages peer support and fosters relationship building. In addition it can be used to support and enhance geometrical reasoning and mathematical learning and 3D modeling.
Origami taps into patterns that echo throughout the universe, seen in natural forms such as leaves emerging from a bud or insects tucking their wings.
In science, origami can be used to create origami models of structures such as DNA, demonstrating its double helix structure. The activity provides a hands-on way of learning about the structure of DNA.
