My Project
How will the specific items you’re requesting make a difference in their learning?
Conceptual understanding is important for all mathematical concepts.
Using math mantipulatives such as base-ten blocks and fraction tiles will help my students develop a deep understanding of place value and fractions. The tubs for organizing fraction tiles and base-ten blocks will significantly improve how my students interact with these essential math tools. By having clear and accessible storage, students will spend less time searching for the materials they need and more time actively learning. Fraction tiles help students visualize and compare fractions, while base-ten blocks make it easier for them to grasp place value, addition, subtraction, and multiplication. A well-organized space will ensure that every student has access to the tools they need to succeed.
What are your goals for this project?
The goal of this project is to create an environment that encourages interactive learning. By providing easy access to fraction tiles and base-ten blocks, I hope to support my students in developing a stronger foundation in key math skills. With the help of these materials, I aim to enhance their ability to understand fractions and place value, two concepts that can be challenging for many students. Through hands-on exploration, my students will not only improve their math skills but also build confidence in their problem-solving abilities.
What makes your students special?
My students are incredibly resilient and enthusiastic learners. They come from diverse backgrounds, each with unique strengths and challenges. Students learn from hands-on, visual learning tools, as these approaches cater to their individual learning styles. They are excited to engage with math in a meaningful way, and by providing them with organized materials, I hope to foster their natural curiosity and love for learning. Their determination and creativity are what make them truly special.
