My students need a mobile storage center and a pocket chart stand as a way to organize their learning! We are learning at a very fast pace and need a way to revisit it easily!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Can you imagine trying to explain where penguins live without a map to show the 27 pairs of eyes staring at you? What about trying to step over three baskets of white boards so you can get to a student to help them write a letter on their own board? Help us organize our learning in our small room!
My classroom consists of 27 kindergarten children.
Most of them live in poverty and are children of immigrants. It is very important that they are able to refer back to their learning and easily find the materials they need. At such a young age they are easily distracted and cannot waste time looking for a poster or trying to get to a white board they need.
My Project
The shelving unit will give us a spot to store all of our whole group supplies we use EVERYDAY, such as our white boards and EXPO markers. The chart stand will allow us to easily access our favorite songs, finger plays, and poems. It will also give us a spot to keep our anchor charts so that we can easily refer back to them when we need to.
In a Kindergarten classroom it is so important to be prepared and organized.
Their little minds are like sponges, absorbing everything within their reach. However, they are also easily thrown off task and each and every minute I have with them I want to spend TEACHING them, not looking for an anchor chart or map we need.
