Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The Good News: We are fortunate to have lots and lots of books to read in our classroom library! The Bad News: We have so many books, but are having a hard time accessing them because we can't organize them properly!
My students are mainly English language learners.
We are a Title 1 school in a neighborhood of low-income, hard-working families who are very supportive of our school and its goals. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints, these families don't have a lot of money to have a rich library at home. Therefore, my students use our classroom library every day.
My Project
My students love to check books out of our classroom library. Fortunately, through the years, I have been able to build a rich collection covering all the literary genres. Unfortunately, looking for specific kinds of books that cater to the students' needs/wants is difficult because the books are disorganized and there isn't enough space to fit everything.
We dream of a tidy classroom library with bins labeled with every genre and space to access these books.
This would save us so much instructional time. Please help make our dream come true!!!
