This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom community consists of 25 enthusiastic children. This past school year, the school community has been affected more than any other year as my school and students live in what was once the epicenter of COVID-19 in NYC. They come from low income, immigrant families, that work hard, and value education. My students aren’t always fortunate enough to have even the most basic supplies. Despite their struggles, they continue coming to school daily excited and ready to learn even during one of the most inconsistent and unpredictable years for learning. My goal is to provide my students with opportunities and materials to explore, see, and learn. The children are like sponges, soaking up everything that they are taught.

My students come to class excited about learning and motivated to do their best.

School is a safe place for them to learn and to be given the tools they need to succeed.

My Project

These boxes/trays will help me teach my students about being organized. The children will finally have a place to store their workbooks, notebooks, and other supplies in a durable tray that will prevent them from being destroyed. The students will learn about responsibility, independence and the need to be organized in order to have the best setup for learning. Having a clean, organized classroom environment will not only help the students in school but also teach them good habits of being a lifelong learner. Please help our class start their educational careers on the right foot.
