Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The electric pencil sharpener, night light, and metal curtain rods and hooks will be used to help our students stay organized and give them ownership of the classroom. I want to give them the opportunity to utilize these tools(office supplies) to feel responsible and organized. As a teacher, I want for me to teach and to have very few interruptions by students needing their pencils sharpened or their paper stapled. My goal is to have my students be self-sufficient when it comes to having things done in and around the classroom. I have selected the metal rod and hooks to help students with their classroom jobs as a "teacher assistant."
In 5th and 6th grade, students have the urge for ownership and autonomy in their classroom.
I know these materials will give them the opportunity to keep their supplies organized manner. Being organized and responsible for their learning and materials leads to them being successful students. They have already shown an interest in being organized, let's continue to give them guidance with these extra tools!
