This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love small group learning stations! We have small group time built in to our daily schedule for math and reading. My students rotate through stations where they either review or work on skills of the week.
Having organized learning stations that run smoothly in a short amount of time is very important.
I teach at a Title I school, where everyone receives free breakfast, and over 75% of our students receive free lunch. Many of my students do not have the required uniform or a backpack on the daily basis. I work very hard to set up a routine for my students to help them be successful. Having task cards that are organized into small photo boxes can help my students to stay organized through their daily small groups.
My Project
Task cards for small group stations for each subject area look a little different. During math stations, we review skills that have been taught in previous units and we focus a lot on practicing multiplication facts! During literacy stations, both the skill of the week and the grammar skill station for the week use task cards!
The Novelinks photo cases will offer a way for each student to keep their individual station organized, as well as a place to store the task cards easily!
The colored Novelinks photo cases can also help me to differentiate the stations a little easier!
Students learn so much through the practice that is provided by using task cards in both math and reading small groups. By funding this project, you will be greatly helping my students learn!
