it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are in second grade and learning to be more independent and responsible with their materials, as this is a very important life skill to have. My students are special because they sit in table groups and don't have much storage space for books, notebooks, and supplies. They try their best to keep their cubbies organized but by the end of the day things get misplaced or lost between students.
I have provided them with book bins, but that isn't enough for all of their belongings and supplies.
The drawers would be used for students to have their whiteboards, clipboards, and ELA books for the unit easily accessible under their tables for them to grab as they head to the carpet for whole group instruction. The seat pockets would be used for their writing notebooks, folders, and workbooks for multiple subjects. Students would not even need to get up since it would be right behind them on their chairs! Other resources will help keep manipulatives and worksheets or handouts well organized so they are easy to find when the time comes to use them.
