My Students
My babies are some of the smartest, hardest working, mentally tough students in the city! In the heart of it, lies our small but mighty school in it's 2nd year of turnaround. What that meant for the students was new teachers, new administrators, new everything. But it also meant passionate, dedicated, hard-working, loving adults around every corner of the building. These adults have allowed our babies to grow and recognize their potential.
While my babies might not have much in the way of physical "stuff", they have perseverance and heart.
That is why they deserve to have the simple things needed for any school/classroom in America. I never want my students to have to worry about pencils or band-aids when they are trying to play catch up in terms of a massive achievement gap. That is why I take that weight on myself. They deserve the best. They are worth it!
My Project
Organization is the key to success! Having the materials to stay organized is a blessing but also in our world, a luxury. My students are often several grade levels behind when I receive them. This means, we do double blocks of reading. I need to teach them grade level work, but then also, meet them where they are performing currently. This means they all have different material, books, papers and need a place to store them in the class!
These boxes will help my students stay organized which will allow them to focus on the important things like learning to read!
