This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

For most children kindergarten is their first experience in school. I believe kindergarten is the foundation for learning and the key to success for life. Therefore, I want to create ​excitement for learning! One way in which this is accomplished is through hands-on manipulatives and cooperative play in our classroom!

I feel privileged to teach my kindergarten students.

They are eager and excited to learn. My students attend a large public school, and most come from low-income households. Many students receive free lunch and also qualify for free after-school programs. Some of my students are learning English as a second language and are attending school for the first time. They don't have access to many technology resources or have opportunities to participate in academically enriching activities outside of my classroom.

My Project

Our kindergarten class needs storage containers and supplies to keep our learning materials clean and organized!

We are asking for finger lights to make our reading fun and engaging!

Items like these make the students excited to read! We are also in need of a Bluetooth speaker. This speaker will allow for all the students to hear the audio from our digital lessons. Unfortunately, the speaker on our computers are not loud enough for everyone to hear. And finally we are asking for a variety of storage and organizational supplies to keep our learning materials and supplies properly stored. Having our materials organized and protected will allow for students for many years to come to have access to them!
