Organized Class to Support Learning

Help me give my students storage containers, shelves, rolling carts, and equipment organizer to help my students independently navigate their way around the classroom and know where items belong and create an environment conducive to learning.

My Students

I am currently a fully self-contained preschool special education teacher in a Title I elementary school in Hawaii. More than half of my students are from low-income families. I have preschool students with various disabilities and delays including autism, fine motor, gross motor, speech/communication, behavior management, social-emotional needs, developmental delays, and medically fragile.

My students are full of energy, loving, caring, spirited, and eager to learn group.

My Project

Developing executive functioning skills is just as important as developing early learning concepts in a preschool class and beyond. A critical piece of that foundation is the organization in the classroom.

My goal is to help prepare my preschoolers to be able to navigate their way in the preschool class and beyond with the help of organization in the classroom.

I believe if we arrange our environment and provide order and structure to the items and activities around them, it will be a contributing factor to the success of student learning and enjoyment. When students are able to independently navigate their way around the classroom and know where items belong it creates a less stressful environment. This allows students to focus on learning new concepts.

I would like to purchase materials such as containers, carts, drawer organizers to help arrange and organize our class environment. Students will learn where to place the iPads, assignments, books, P.E. equipment, and more.
