This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have 24 students who are enthusiastic, creative, and clever second graders who need 2 cubby storage units.
For the past few years, I have been purchasing materials/furniture to create a hands-on classroom with flexible seating.
Cubby storage units will help with hands-on as it shows students the importance of organization.
Being organized is an important responsibility that students should be taught at a very young age. By doing that, we as educators ensure that students succeed in school and in life.
By donating the Classic Birch Big Bins See-Inside Storage Units, my students will have a growing sense of responsibility and independence. The storage units will help my students with organization skills as they would know exactly where the hands-on materials are and where they need to be stored when they are not in use.
I want to continue to change the furniture in my classroom to support and increase group teamwork. This will help to teach students from a young age the importance of having an organized work space and importance of building a community to work with.
More than half of students from low‑income households
